This video steps you through setting it up using eCash, which is quick easy, but it is not Self-custody.
If you want a self custody Lightning wallet, you need to but 100,000 Satoshi to open your own Lightning channel, which will cost you around $130 the days.
Once you have a lightning address, you copy and paste that into your Nostr profile using Amethyst.
You’re right on ecash being custodial, but Lightning channels are as cheap as 6-7k sats through our LSP. Big difference.
