The web went from read only > read/write > followers/subscribers became a thing > for you algorithmic feeds changed this making it so the incentives shifted from producing the best content to all the engagement farming we see today > and then this guy concludes Patreon can help bring back the true follower (he is the CEO of Patreon) but I’m bullish on Nostr/Zaps improving these incentives in the long run. This is a very simply summary but I enjoyed hearing someone give their experience using the web and watching how it has changed while they went from a nobody artist to growing a following then becoming CEO of a very successful tech business
