Right now it feels like the gaming industry caters to wallet gamers (aka Whales) first and foremost and pump out monetized content 24/7 while leaving gamers actually interested in the gameplay stranded without any significant updates or support.
Yes there are exceptions to this rule out there, but it is definitely wrong that when something like Elden Ring releases to great acclaim and then AAA developers come out of the woodworks to seethe about it and sometimes even try to trash it because they're jealous something was made that is wildly successful without microtransactions and battlepass bullshit.
