Cars are such an excellent example. It's basically an old tech with null to insignificant improvement year on year (talking about ICE, EVs are another thing).

However, buying a brand new car has never in three generations been more expensive than it is now, let alone keeping and maintaining one (insurance, parking space if you need to rent one, repairs, taxes, fuel, etc).

I make more money than anybody in my whole family has ever made, and even a second hand car is something even though I can buy it, doesn't make any sense, economically speaking.

I kid you not when I say I could buy and keep a small second (or third) hand sailboat for less money.

I think cars leaked in the early 2000s with the aux jacks before they beeped at you for not wearing a seat belt. I say no thank you to touchscreens.
