Price patterns are fractal by nature, but no previous pattern is ever 100% identical to the current one.

Essentially, each pattern is constructed by two elements:

1. Time

2. Price

If you remove time, then price movement is simply areas of higher density versus lower density. Price is more likely to gravitate (and interact) towards these higher-density zones.
