Throwback to August 2020.

We had been stuck in Vietnam 5 months. We found ourselves in Phong Nha, a little village in the central region. We got to do cool stuff.

Like see water buffalos, ducks, snakes in forbidden caves, learn the history of the Vietnam war, met the woman who fought in some of the biggest battles in the region, watch unexploded ordinance (bombs from the war) be detonated in the countryside...

And we even witnessed a flood of epic proportions that made me understand what a serious flood looks like and how you just cannot explain those kinds of things. We learned so much during our months in this village.

I highly recommend visiting if you're ever planning a trip to Vietnam.

Fantastic! Must have been so strange to be stuck. Sounds like you made the most of it though.

… I am sitting here in Hanoi airport waiting to leave after a fantastic trip here with my 18 year old son. What a place. Will definitely be back with the rest of my family asap!

Oh wow! Yes, Vietnam stole my heart. Also for 2020 and most of 2021 I think it was probably the best country in the world to be stuck in. We travelled so much. I am super grateful for the adventure. I hope you enjoyed some Bun Cha Hanoi and had a wonderful trip! Add Phong Nha to your Itinerary for next time. Visit Phong Nha Farmstay and let them know I sent you πŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌπŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ŠπŸ˜Š
