I know this post is about pancakes but I couldn’t help but admire the quality of the seasoning on that cast iron pan šŸ‘

For a time my pfp on the old bird app was ā€œno use soap on my skilletā€ šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ¤œšŸ¤› well seasoned skillets are where it’s at!

Respect. I just can’t get mine there. I use it and care for it and get it to a pretty decent spot, but inevitably I’ll cook something that sticks and requires enough elbow grease to clean that I end up stripping some of the seasoning off even without soap. I mainly use mine for meats these days. I just don’t have the confidence to cook eggs on it, let alone pancakes!

I’ve had this one for a solid 10 yrs so it’s gotten a really good base to it. I’ll re-season it as needed but for the most part it just works. I always rinse my skillets in hot water while they are hot and then dry them out on the stovetop. Seems to help with not scraping that seasoned layer off.
