Nostr is not a public square because Nostrland has no government to hold the property.
It is a collection of private printing presses who are more or less selective in what they print and who can read what they publish.
That is better than a public square because it does not have one owner and the owners do not have to agree on what is printed.
Nostr is digital Freedom of the Press.

I like the idea of using a Blastr model for community relays. Members who want to host a community forum could opt to Blast notes to every relay in the group to ensure hosting is diversified and content remains accessible. With Blastr, Nostr relays become a public square. But both options are beneficial contextually.
