I use Linux. Sometimes it’s a pain but I love not being beholden to Microsoft anymore

Pain? I got rid of that shitty pile of toxic crap in 99 or so, ran it for a year or so within the beta of VMWare to get my work on Pagemaker and Photoshop done, then got onto OSX early around early 2001.
Never looked back much! Did run some 10 version of that fucked up thing around 2019, mainly to signal something far too normie to business partners…
Oh but wait, running it in QubesOS is actually fun & tolerable! Used it for a while to get quality sock puppet accounts going ;-)
Linux is hard in the beginning, like compiling kernels and setting up X config & window managers from scratch, but that is a tiny investment compared to being caught in the nightmare alternative for decades…
And from around now & onwards I totally include OSX in that… I’m convinced that Apple got fully compromised a bit after the scamdemic got going, maybe even earlier than that!
🤙 If you use Qubes as your daily driver I’m super impressed. I felt so dumb trying to navigate it .
My laptops running it get wrecked all the time haha, 3 have now had weird failures like USB charger port breaking off, first one just died and the last one died from water in the keyboard… That should not normally kill it outright, so I see these things as hints to not worry too much about anonymity haha…
It’s totally worth the learning curve, just get an old, cheap laptop that makes it easy to install :-)
