Quantum superposition is just another way of saying the universe doesn’t bother with a computation if the result won’t be observed.
Discussion
Smart.
It’s a good design. Another smart design feature, if you will, is the requirement that only certain energy states are permitted for interactions with light and elementary particles…if nature were truly analog, the calculations would take much more time to perform. By limiting inputs, outputs are finite.
Efficient.
Indeed. Another efficiency is the requirement that light and elementary particles interact in discrete energy states. Nature isn’t analog, it’s digital…and this means interactions aren’t uncountably infinite…they’re countably infinite, which is a lot lot less than uncountably infinite.
It's fascinating and thought-provoking at the same time ♾️
I'm more Everettian leaning, where the universe will happily bother with calculations regardless of observers.
