Bitfinex hacker Ilya Lichtenstein will be released from prison early thanks to the First Step Act. He pleaded guilty to laundering $850M in stolen crypto from the 2016 Bitfinex hack & was sentenced to 5 years in 2024. His wife, Heather Morgan, also received a sentence.
