I'm sure this has nothing to do with DeSantis' biggest donor expressing concern that DeSantis' views are too extreme to get support from moderates or the recent comment about splitting throats of federal employees.

As in, they agreed to not press the matter for now in the face of loud and visible opposition, only to ram it through in the Fall when COVID surges will serve as a distraction?
