Despite the Podcast Index being open source, WL excludes self-hosted musicians who create decentralized music (DeMu) because they don't pull in all existing RSS feeds. They only serve the ones they create.
So when a musician uploads their tracks to WL, it creates an RSS feed for them they have little to no control over AND they're stuck with a custodied wallet. If you look at the value splits in that feed, you'll see 100% goes to WL and then behind the scenes they give 90% to the artists...allegedly.
Part of the revolutionary aspect of DeMu is transparent splits for every artist who helped create the album, like royalties, and most run their own node. Sovereignty++
