You may have seen some tweets about the recent event where two pools control over 51% of the hashrate.
But in reality, it’s worse. If you count Antpool proxy pools, we surge at two pools controlling 61% of the hashrate. These two pools control want goes inside the block.
There is an immediate need to decentralise how block templates are created.
We need more pools who let miners create their own templates in a decentralised way. Over 88% of the hashrate of nostr:npub1qtvl2em0llpnnllffhat8zltugwwz97x79gfmxfz4qk52n6zpk3qq87dze have a block template created by the miner itself rather than the pool.
