A while back, the big craze in #tech was #blockchain. Everyone was going to use blockchain everywhere and it was going to solve everything.

Now it's #AI, which has a more gripping narative that contrasts the potential upsides with the doom and gloom. The fact that it doesn't work very well (in so many ways) is ignored because "it'll get better".

Next is going to be #quantum #computers. The discourse will look very similar to the current AI conversation. There will be articles written about the wonderful breakthroughs that will be unlocked and others talking about the totalitarian state that it will enable.

I suspect it will be after the 2024 US presidential election, but before the 2028 election.

I think right now AI is the shiny object that everyone is mesmerized by.

However, I can already spot the flaws and more importantly the patterns that it gets into.

It is a matter of time before everyone tires of some of the aspects of AI.

In the end, humans tend to like human interaction.
