I actually really like this idea. Like, whether you believe in muh-climate change (I don't), planting a billion trees in every country ought to make our planet better.

While we're at it, let's make them all fruit trees so we can take care of hunger too. And if irrigation is a problem, we can fix that. Sounds like a worthwhile project.
