Why it’s paramount to come face to face with God:

Face to face with this Lord, this Light, all the shadowy ghosts in us instantly shrivel and die: all shamming and shilly-shellying and semblance and sophistry and swindling and sneakiness and shiftiness and shuffling; all faithlessness and fakery and forgery and falsity and fibbery and fabrication and phoniness and pharisaism; all dishonesty and dissembly and deception and delusion and deceitfulness and deviousness and double-mindedness and double-heartedness and double-dealing; all posturing and posing and pretense and prevarication and perjury; all falsity and fraud and fudging and faking and fanning and flimflamming; all truthlessness and trickery and trumpery and tartuffery; all bull-shit and bluff and bunk and baloney; all hugger-mugger and hogwash and hype and hypocrisy; all mumbling, mealy-mouthed, moldy mendacity—in fact, most of what we are. Look at all the words we have for it.
