I had parents, but I’m an only child and feel a sense of loneliness that friends with siblings don’t.

Now both my parents are gone (mum died and my father has Alzheimer’s) I don’t have anybody to share my childhood memories with.

I suspect this is a much smaller degree of what you feel.

I can only imagine how much more intense this feeling is for you.

It seems we are opposite there. I have an older brother and we are each other’s anchors.

As they say that the grass is always greener but we’ve both come to terms with what we never had a long time ago.
