So sad, when people get out of higher education, and realize, that studying does not give the edge as they were promised.
But still it can be great, if you build relationships there.
Relationships give an edge.
When I look at the calbire of individual now that is in possesion of a degree, it would make you thnk that they are just handing them out to anybody, completely worthless as a measure of someones capabilites and competency, or even just whether or not they can think at all.

Infact, the inverse might be true:
Going to college is likely to make you less of a critical thinker because you haven't been exposed to the types of propaganda academia is now riddled with, like a bloated worm infest corpse.
