This makes no sense. If people got healthier, they would live longer. And old people are the best customers for big pharma. Nobody wants to kill their best customers.

Pharma companies don't pay pensions. The government on the other hand - they do have incentives to shorten citizens' life span.

Neither the government nor pharma want you to be healthy, my friend.

The point is that I can choose not to buy pharma products if I don't trust them. That's not the case for the state.
