I was on the fence about this but I finally bought a compound bow and it delivered yesterday. Dabbled in archery as a scout and even got the merit badge. Never picked it back yo but it was still a thought of I want to do that but its expensive. Saved up, found a good deal and here it is.

Im in decent shape, played sports in college and functionally picked up ladders and construction for a few years after. I say this as I consider myself not a weak individual. Well fuck me running if trying to draw a bow at 70 lb draw weight will not humble you quick fast and in a hurry. The excitement of this new tool that I was unable to even use vanished. In its place was disbelief that I can't do something automatically because I can pick up heavier weight. Now with a purpose and goal I'm learning to tune my bow, adjust draw weight and realize I'm a beginner again. Learning the range of motion and skills to continue and advance in archery with the goal of bowhunting. I'm looking forward to the work and progress and the first shot I get at 70lbs will mean more because it wasn't automatically easy.

You'll do better if you start again with a low poundage takedown recurve & work up to it.
