I have been starting to do this brain dump as well. I also heard somewhere that when you brain dump to highlight the items you want to complete and focus on those for that day. I have yet to try this but seems like a good way to prioritize what you want/need to get done.

I have been struggling lately, there is so much going on in this world. Things are tense and it makes you feel somewhat powerless.

I don’t like to highlight the original list, but create a new list. I also am the queen of overestimating how much I can do in a day and underestimating how much can be done through small repeated actions. So I’ve been trying to pick 3 things to prioritize completing that day. Because my main focus is recovering from surgery right now I literally picked one thing yesterday that I needed to prioritize. Everything else just has to wait. Or in reality I did one task in addition to prioritizing resting.

I don’t like to highlight the original list because I tend to keep a running master to do list that I will pull things off of to prioritize that day. Occasionally I start fresh with a new master list. The old list will end up being littered with tasks that my brain thought should be done but were never urgent or important and over time become irrelevant.

This is great! Yeah things work different for everyone and some things work or don’t. I have had many forms of list and highlights or no lists. I feel as though I change constantly and changing the process is good that way you are not stuck in a muscle memory cycle where you auto pilot.

I always like talking about the process because you pick up new tips and tricks and things to try. But I really like organization, and productivity hacks but I have to remind myself not to go overboard. Do as much as is effective and let everything else go. Otherwise I’d spend more time color coding my life and half my budget would be spent at the container store. The world already has Clea and Joanna of The Home Edit.

Haha I felt all of this. Sometimes the thinking becomes the problem. Usually if I have coffee on Saturday and find myself in a target. It’s game over for myself.

I’ll leave with the store.

🤣 Target can be dangerous. At one point I had a roommate who would stop me before checkout and make me justify each purchase. Years later and I still buy so much less from Target because of her.

That’s a good roommate. Idk what it is but target just gets my coffee buzz in the right place haha

I’ve heard if you get a Starbucks from the Target kiosk you can keep getting free refills as long as you’re in store. I haven’t tested it out to see if it’s true.

Now this would be a game changer…

Have we lost you to Target forever?
