I clicked a lightning bolt on the post and copied an invoice but couldn’t change the number (1000); so I tried clicking the lightning bolt on the profile image and using that invoice and I could change the number (10k)…
I can only guess that there are two types of invoices: fix amount and variable amount…but I couldn’t see a way to tell by looking at the invoice string itself.
If you are using Android Amethyst client, you can long press the zap ⚡ button under any post to edit the zapping amounts.

I still have much to learn about lightning.
Things I still don’t understand: who pays tx fee when closing a channel? Can someone send me 1 sat, close channel and make me pay a tx fee? If I send you 1 sat through someone else and then close the channel I sent it through, does that cause a cascade of on chain transactions? I would doubt it.
Lightning is just a little too clever for me to thoroughly understand intuitively.
