Doubtful. They'll acknowledge what's happening, get frightened, and then go back to ignoring it because they're too scared to take the proper precautions.
In the moment, I'm sure it's foggy to the fast asleep. But in retrospect, how obvious is this all going to reveal itself to have been? Will they be able to mentally handle that?
