Was talking to my neighbor about this topic and how bad incentives via laws, regulations, and fiat games lead to ugly development and general rape of the land. Personally I think urban centers will be constrained and there will be a re-emergence of small townships and communities. Christopher Alexander and his pattern language for development may play a central role in the development of new philosophies regarding land development and building.
