In a vacuum, tariffs are a bad policy and negatively affect economic growth.

However, economics dont play out in a vacuum and much of the cost cant be quantified in a way that is easily digestible.

How do you quantify more noxious waste that spill out into our air and oceans? Replacing middle class jobs with slave labor overseas? Or International supply chains that require full time US military presence?

We have allowed ourselves to be ruled by fake metrics like GDP and stock indicies at the very cost of the things that truly matter.

God, relationships, and health.

They're bad in a vacuum assuming nation states exist in that same vacuum and that those nation states may go to war in the future.

HOW BIG IS YOUR VACUUM BRO
