How many times do you flip your bacon? I'm starting to realize that fewer is better.

The trick is a bacon press. Heat up the pan and the press. Lift the press and drop in the bacon. Lay the hot press back on top. You flip once or not at all. Crispy bacon goodness.
You only have to flip once, after the first side is crisp
The times I did this, the bacon always turned out great.
Zero times. I cook my bacon in the microwave even though it tastes better when fried in a frying pan.
Once. And I use a press/weight when frying in pan.
I don't apply any pressure to my bacon, but I'll try it out.
As long as it has abit of crisp to it, then its perfect. Never tried not flipping ๐ค
Judging by the number of responses to this note, Baconology can definitely become a thing. ๐
Seriously, there's a lot of thought put into perfect bacon around here ๐
I love bacon. ๐ And I've had bacon cooked badly. Or with fat trimmed off. Yuk.
So yeah I totally believe you. ๐ฏ
Cheap bacon isn't great either ๐
I'm not a fan of oven / grilled bacon, tends to dry out.
Good quality bacon cooked well, fried in a frying pan, the best. ๐
Where are you in US? I'm in UK.
I've heard in US they also loves their slow cooked bbq meats too, it's an art form, famous pitmasters.
Street food culture not really a thing in UK. London is amazing. But outside London it's hard to find.
Bacon is a staple here in UK, always included in famous british breakfast. You get british breakfast all over the UK, but we don't always use streaky bacon, which is not as good imo. ๐ฅ ๐ฅ ๐ฅ
Extra fat in streaky bacon and crispyness is what sets it apart... its been a while since I've had a proper fry up, craving steak bacon now... ๐
Oven cooked bacon tastes better and doesnโt need flipped.
