Now that progressives have won control of the Wisconsin Supreme Court through a statewide election, and have filed suit to put an end to politically gerrymandered districts, guess how the GOP responds?

They threaten to impeach Justice Janet Protasiewicz, using their illegal, gerrymandered supermajority in the legislature to do so.

They will do anything to stay in power.

Also the republican senate leader has specifically said they wont do this.. Everything i read is purely speculative... what basis do you have that they are going to impeach?

Here is the quote I found from the majority republican leader of Wisconsin on the matter:

Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu, R-Oostburg, acknowledged that threshold in an interview with WISN-TV on April 5 saying, β€œwe’re not going to use impeachments to overturn elections or anything like that.”

β€œTo impeach someone they would need to do something very serious, so no, we are not looking to start the impeachment process as a regular occurring event in Wisconsin,” he said.
