You either own your social data or someone else owns your data.

You either have to ask permission to communicate or you communicate freely without having to ask for permission.

You either have a portable digital social identity that to can take with you to various applications or you create new accounts every single time you switch platforms.

The choice is easy.

Wow, that’s amazing description 💜💁

Happy Sunday everyone here who made a choice ✊🏻💯🍀

It would be cool to have a Start9 nostr relay archive

StartOS does come with a Nostr relay app.

I wish there were an easy StartOS config or plug-in that could archive my npub content

A one click button would be nice. Until then, you can use nak to do that. NAK is the Nostr Army Knife. You can use it to do a lot of things, such as sync events from one relay to another.

not pre-installed, you do have to get it from the Services marketplace.

I never understood this private relay stuff.

It doesnt even let me restore from file.

I really dont see the point of it or how it would help me if my nostr identity to wiped off other relays for example.

I would like to have a plugin, or application that not only backup all my data live but also gives me the option to restore it and broadcast it.

Nostr profile manager is great for that but its a website you have to visit.

It seems we are still lacking one tool that does it all for nostr private relay at a minimal and functional level.

You write all of your events to a private relay so that in the future if you need to you can re-broadcast them to other relays. This re-broadcast functionality is built into many clients.

Not into the startos nostr-relay...

Either somebody “owns” your data and your digital identity … or you are sovereign with friends. YOU have the choice.

Either you “request” to create accounts and post social content … or you are sovereign with friends. Post to ANY server.

You either have “access” to accounts on multiple platforms … or you are sovereign with friends. Use ANY app.

Nostr is freedom … but with friends.

Amen.

My yearly web host bill is coming up… kinda wanna nuke the site instead of pay it…

If you use it and it's beneficial then you may need to keep it around. Everyone's use cases here are different.
