Turned my old windows laptop into an umbrel Bitcoin and lightning node run on Linux OS.

Not exactly, but am happy to help in any way I can.
Step 1. Is to get rid of shitcoin windows and install Linux.
You will need a flash drive 8gig is plenty, rufus etcher(or other etching app), and to DL Linux. I used Ubuntu.
Then flash ubuntu onto the drive, open BIOS and enable boot from flash drive.
Plug the drive in and restart
I’m busting the hardware out plan on doing it this weekend I’ll be in touch if and when I get stuck
