I would say this analysis is quiet binary.

I see stable coins as a bridge from one island to the other.

They are crypto, but not decentralized. They are backed by central banks money but still easy to trade on decentralized marketplaces.

PS: I don't know how we can get decentralized stable coins, a group who can make this, need to be brave because some of the elite will try to murder them, to stay in power = "EVIL politics😮‍💨/bribes😡😶"👀 🤔
