The great expeditions of the 1800s were in fact mostly quests to recover ancient artifacts which you'll be presented as great accomplishments of the modern science later on. Man comes from perfection and will go back to perfection one distant day, reunited in God. Man is not the product of gene engineering of ghey aliens. Peak of human technology happened in Atlantean times, before the Great Flood. The resets ever since are attempts to mess with the public perception. If the news are fake, imagine the history.
