I fail to see the difference between this and normal market, just paid in Bitcoin🤔
I think people are tired of conferences, somewhat. While it’s great to engage irl, panels often regurgitate the same thing. (A complaint I hear often, however, there is DAILY change around here, so not sure how accurate this is, I’m guessing it refers to Bitcoin conferences rather than #Nostr ones)
I think 🤔 the experience angle is much better! It would give people a chance to get to know each other better
And yes, I teach #yoga, I’m part of nostr:npub1jwev660jrdrfeaw2u9sssv3v4jgsxqs32qmd5yhpgzlesg5j0gase4qha6 and we’re ramping up for #CultureShock25
Last year, we had panels, a live show by nostr:npub17yemy3hswcelmcdgjsfn4sns4wr4q5ptvj5h08qt4s7fy2qe3hdqsczs99 on nostr:npub1h8gzew8am6cezuq7cpjgudldra40hgnruqrqlsrqnxnzs5wjtczqztps02 and food by nostr:npub1zas6j8r62ejfadxrvqsrp27qdszdpr87hdg4jyussfrx72eek86sjg8sm8 and @cyndra priced in sats. We had a few vendors too.
Discussion
nostr:npub1h8ktyt8zvqc8dcpk7yh9gq6fs0csqcujlkqdwwspwgtef9ral6xqzugdky just did a market in Charlotte with merchants paying in BTC, many for the 1st time
Alright, so just a happening or any type, but purposely paid in btc? Is that the main thought? Festival as nostr:nprofile1qqstsw3gkljwt5stm9svt7htvcjlj4ffze4chkcyt4pxxj30xkgeg5qpp4mhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mqpz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduq3qamnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3wwa5kuegkfx43z wrote for example. That? I was confused. It's true there's not much like that yet. That would require a lot of marketing research in an area. My czech Bitcoiners are often vastly different from Nostriches.
I think we just have to try and create whatever little circular economies we can 🤷♀️
I'm not sure going btc only is the way to reach wide enough audience though. I won't drive in people who don't have it yet. And those who are orange pilled don't need further pilling.🤔
I’ve tried being the only BTC person in a market. Ended up taking zero BTC payments, but did show one Gen a guy nostr:npub1yfg0d955c2jrj2080ew7pa4xrtj7x7s7umt28wh0zurwmxgpyj9shwv6vg and that was cool.
I think it’s good to show merchants that BTC is an option though. Like helloooooo there *is* an alternative to all the venmo and PayPal and Zelle bullshit.
But people love that bullshit and don’t realize why it’s bullshit.
So I think we have to offer incentives if we take payments in BTC. Like a % discount.
It's still not about a special thing happening, that's the general pro btc approach. I teach paid in btc too, ask in cafés, mention it on concerts and such. My local 21 group has monthly parties, pizza day and so on, where merchants are paid in btc. For the rest there are things like BTC Prague, I thought that's where the general thought goes.
