Everyone wants to grow #cleancannabis but how clean can your #cannabis be if it’s funding systemic racism? As the movement to #defundthepolice continues to gain momentum, we encourage all the rec farms in Oregon, Cali, and every other state to take accountability for the money they are putting into (racist) over policing of their communities. We say this with love. If you’re growing and selling weed on the legal market, you are directly supporting over policing and systemic racism. This is not your fault, it’s the way the system was setup. However, change is happening every day right now and we’re calling for rec farms to take accountability for this fact and advocate for different spending of the funds that they are generating. We also encourage everyone to learn about the racist history of police, and how they were originally formed to catch runaway slaves. Also consider the fact that even as crime rates decrease police funding continues to increase, this plays into militarized police and prisons for profit. All of this is connected to systemic racism and it all connects back to the funds that we as farmers are generating for the government to use.
