Good for in-city stuff. For larger area Lora is probably more effective. This could be very handy in emergency situations though, especially urban ones. As long as everyone downloads it beforehand, and has an iPhone.

You could have someone with huge Bluetooth relays across aountain range. In theory.

Or we can pay people to mill about 300m apart across large distances to make the mesh network. In theory.

I actually used to work at a wireless ISP, maintaining 50km plus wifi & licensed frequency links. For any kind of distance Bluetooth isn't a great solution. In a more occupied are with a mesh yes, it's more useful.
