I have a dumb #nostr question, I keep a self-custody #bitcoin wallet on my phone. I keep about €50-100 in it at anytime. Mostly to replace carrying #cash in an actual #wallet.

How can I use this local wallet in #primal or #amethyst for zaps?

I'm not concerned with the speed or fees of non-lightning at this point. If someone gets their zaps days later, they still got them. I'll pay whatever fees there are for a 0.00000001 bitcoin transaction.

Can I use #monero wallet for zaps?

I don't want to use third party wallets, mostly because the terms are horrible.

And yes, I tried to connect an external wallet in #primal but it wants to scan a qr code...of the wallet on my phone. And putting a wallet address doesn't work as a connection string.

What self-custody wallet app are you using? The wallet app must support NWC (NOSTR Wallet Connect), and not all do.

Since Mutiny is ending, there aren't many great options left. You'll need a self-custody lightning wallet that supports NWC. You could try #Zeus or #Alby hub. Don't know much about Alby's self custody option, but I've seen positive feedback on here. I experimented with Zeus, but the wallet was ridiculously slow to sync. Maybe they've worked past those issues now.

Zeus is I. my to do list to test out.

If you only hold €50-100, then self custody lightning might not be worth the hassle or cost (assuming you're not completely against custody solutions). There's two competing #ecash protocols that seem to have a lot of promise: #cashu and #fedimint. Both are fully interoperable with lightning. On the cashu side, #minibits is an awesome wallet app that supports NWC. Works flawlessly with Amethyst. In theory cashu also has really good privacy. The mints use blind signatures.

I changed Zeus from TOR connection to LNC and it’s much faster
