This s very concerning to me. One of the arguments for Bitcoin is the rules are fixed and locked in code unlike governments who control the fist supply and rules. This change undermines that core philosophy

Curious, how would a change like this undermine the core philosophy? There would be no code change by renaming, just a naming convention swap. Or am I missing something?

The rules are fixed or they are not. It will promote a lack of confidence in the bitcoin and the miners themselves. If they make this change, then whats next - change of supply? Sats are Bitcoin as cents are to the dollar. Its not hard and there is nothing wrong with it.
