This is because fedikarens will hatescroll my profile, some of them once-per-day, in search of things to email certain people about. I'd like certain people to not be harassed by karens, so karens see a gif of my little punk buddy instead of my profile.

They can, of course, use other instances that do federate with mine in order to see my profile, but those people claim that doing such things is hacking and harassment and bypassing blocks, so I'm very very very sure they would never ever do such an evil thing.

I am contractually forbidden from, among other things, doing anything that could even be remotely construed as attacking other users on fedi. In the interest of keeping as wide a safety margin as possible, I've taken this to mean that I cannot post any screenshots of anybody on fedi that I am not specifically praising.

In other words, if I'm saying something is not good, or if I'm poking fun at the irony of something, posting screenshots of it is now a no-go.

Maintaining these contractual obligations is core and key to other, far more important goals of mine, and so I am not only making a good-faith effort to follow them, but I am going out of my way to stay entirely beyond reproach. I'm essentially pretending that I'm a brand ambassador for the entity in question.
