The gap between first and third world seems to be closing thanks to technology

I guess I’m old now because I’m going to say
Back in my day we used the tech as a tool and today we are the tool for the tech
I think both are true and people always have the option to stop being a tool
And free market capitalism

The gap started closing after the laggard countries started respecting their citizens' property rights, removing price controls and trade restrictions, allowing individuals to engage in free enterprise and abandoning central planning.
These policies have been called different names, but the common theme is this: the Government getting out of the way of the economy.
Oh right. There are setbacks but the overall trend is encouraging.
