I was discussing a gread grandmother of mine with my Mom. Her husband died in a farming accident, and she raised several children on her own, running the farm and investing in oil infrastructure. She spent 10 years in a nursing home in her later years, but her holdings paid enough to keep her in the green every month.

I explained to my Mother, great grandma Rolf invested in oil infrastructure during a time when cars were replacing horses. That there would have been considerable FUD about the new technology. Forging a new paradigm isn’t easy, but it pays. And it’s not a new behavior. People have been searching for better ways since we decided to cook with fire.
