The chat based trade in Bisq 2 is annoying as hell. I really hope they don't plan to make this the default.

The trade channel is a support forum more than anything else. Letting people fire off chats in the open and in the middle of the trade interface makes no sense to me (reading the chats, it appears I'm not alone).

It's feeling more like Slack than an exchange. Really bizarre UX.

I can also imagine a lot of people getting scammed using this. The first thing I would do (as a scammer) is complete some sales between several Bisq profiles I control (to increase reputation) and then rug someone good later on. Rinse and repeat.

No good in my opinion. Especially as a default for new users.
