News companies gave their content for free to Social media, thinking that it would create more traffic on their news websites.

It didn’t. People just went to social media for news, instead of the news websites.

News complained to government, hoping that “taxes” would fix this.

Social media said fuck your news.

Now news companies are screwed. And the public can’t get the news from social media.

So stupid.

News companies should have charged for their content from the start. Either on their own websites or on social media via a paywall or something similar. No freebies idiots
