I tend to be careful l when I think about the value of science. Even as the most powerful tool to create knowledge, I don’t think it’s value is absolute, but rather derived from the consumers/creators willingness acquire/create products based upon it

Non-scientific knowledge systems, like philosophy and religion, compete for our attention and creativity. Because these are scarce and have opportunity cost, every consumer/creator’s choice impacts the valuation of the knowledge system used to create it
