In a world where eveyone is looking to have “older” friends, I find myself drawn to those younger than me as comrades and friends. The youth have a loose worldview, one that is not yet cemented by the rigidity of tradition or the weight of ever-growing responsibility. To them, the world is a blank canvas waiting for color and newness, revolution and protest -untethered by conviction and bold in dreams and imagination.

As you move into your 30s, it becomes more difficult to cultivate deep friendships with those in their 20s due to proximity and season of life. But if you can find them, cherish them. Though these relationships are harder to form, they worth holding on to as they remind us that newness, fresh imagination, and freedom are always within reach, no matter your age.
