"hardened Floppy" means Pentagon show cost of that as $500000 / piece hence it MUST need piece of wargames. u get it

yes. i'm sure they did write it off for more than it cost. the other more subtle message i was conveying there is that, it's not really possible to "hack" a floppy. i.e. online storage of sensitive data is not optimal.

yes - but technology PRIORITY is LOWER when comes making PROFIT

yes, i agree. open source all the way 🏴‍☠️

bureaucracy can never opensource lol

only can outsource

open gov

Curious how they tested if their new solution worked

Did they upgrade to 3.5 or push it all the way to Zip disks?

lol. apparently they went hog-wild-crazy:

"...the Air Force replaced the floppy disk with a new “highly secure solid state digital storage solution” in the Strategic Automated Command and Control System (SACCS) that coordinates the Pentagon's land-launched nuclear missiles, nuclear-missile-armed submarines and long-range strategic bombers, 595th Strategic Communications Squadron Lt. Col. Jason Rossi

told C4ISRNet on Oct. 17 (2019)."

Oh girl, that’s just a USB stick

lol, yup

hog. wild. crazy.

🤣
