That sounds like a joke to orthodox ears like mine. All the first christian communities were ... yes communal. Something like monasteries function until today. Probably you don't want to hear what kind of opinion i have for popes (the same as almost all orthodox christians have).

To be fair I'm not convinced that the guys at the top of the orthodox hierarchies are any better 🤷🏽‍♀️

Isn't the Russian Orthodox top priest blessing Russian soldiers to go to war in the Ukraine because if the state of Russia loses power his church loses power? Sounds like something a pope would do to me. Doesn't sound like what Jesus did when He was here.

I think you are right. The difference is that popes had the opportunity to make crimes, while patriarchs didn't 😃
