My wallet of satoshi was unusable (ios), but usable on android. Then I downloaded it again from app store from a different region, now it works.

Oof this scares me. Does it mean my region might not be allowed to use it?

Idk and dont think so, that just made me think apple is serving different installations for different regions, and maybe a region has been updated quicker/at all than another
