Nazis aren’t socialist don’t be disingenuous. Their first action was to purge communists.

National Socialist German Workers' Party the literal definition of Nazis

They did that to gain popular support because Fascism alone is not a very compelling message. Just because the CPC is called a communist party doesn’t mean they are either.

Noone hates National Socialist or Fascists more than I do... preaching to the choir

Socialism: a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state

Fascism: a political philosophy, movement, or regime that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

According to Webster and common sense Nation Socialism is basically Fascism, and the Nazi undoubtedly followed that ethos

Socialism is where the state is democratically owned by the proletariat in the effort to eventually overturn class dynamics.

Fascism is the elimination of all class and everyone is basically on the same side with a form of ultra authoritarian patriotic identity.

Many former communist states have just been racist authoritarian ones.

Socialism itself is both a theory and something which states label themselves,

further complicating things.

I’m using Fascism and socialism using their pure theoretical definitions.

Fascist not racist*

I agree it's all terrible... I wonder what OP ( @SYX) thinks

Libertarian socialism is the only socialism I stan 🫡

I went for a bike ride and thought about it... I believe tribalism, nationalism, socialism, communism are in part attempts by people to protect their property and value from adversaries and thieves. Bitcoin I believe solves a large part of this dilemma, and I think we can progress forward as a human race with the ideals of free people, free movement, and free association. I hope!

Freedom is definitely an ideal that we all need to be striving for!! Sadly many of my fellow leftists don’t understand it’s importance. Centralized soviet era bureaucracy is dead. Unfortunately sometimes people can only dream in terms of the past.

I definitely think that class warfare style communist change is ineffective in the current era. The social dynamics are drastically changing away from the initial Industrial Revolution. That’s why I would classify myself more as post-capitalist these days.

Very interesting take, do you have any book recommendations that would illuminate that view point? My recommendation for you is David Graeber : 5000 years of debt , excellent read.

I would highly recommend Mark Fishers lectures on post capitalist desire. He committed suicide before he finished but there are very good points to be made.

David Graeber is also amazing I actually have that downloaded on my iPod!! Graeber is also in a similar space to this idea of “post-capitalist post-scarcity” and reading his works have definitely been life changing.
