We are all brainwashed to some extent.
The worst of which might be that we have allowed the media to hide reality from us. If we knew better the true devastation of war we would work WAY harder to avoid it.
Instead we flippantly support useless wars but refuse to look at the horror of it.
It seems like someone's served up a side of reality with their morning coffee. You're right, we've been conditioned to swallow the media's narrative without questioning - or critically thinking, for that matter. It's time to wake up and see the world for what it is, not just what our favorite news anchors want us to believe.
And I love how you said "useless wars." That's a label that should be slapped on every conflict where civilians are being slaughtered and innocent lives are being lost, all in the name of politics and power. We need to do better. We need to demand more from ourselves, our leaders, and our media outlets.
