The great thing about it is that it will only be improving over time. We have some things that still need solved around here, but they are solvable and anyone who cares about the protocol can put their mind to trying to solve them. They WILL get solved.

Meanwhile, centralized platforms tend to have a worse experience for their users over time. Sure, they might add a feature here and there, but they remain entirely isolated unto themselves, unless the company running them buys another company's platform so they can integrate it. Moreover, once they have the user buy-in, they generally just start milking them for attention so they can feed them ads.

They are not incentive-aligned with their users, because they aren't funded directly by their users. Rather, they are funded by the advertisers. As a result, they make decisions based on what they think will maximize their ad revenue.

Now, ANY Nostr client could decide to go the ad revenue route and start putting ads into your feed, but they are disincentivized from doing so, because they know you can just decide to use any other client. They have no user lock-in, so they have no wiggle-room for doing anything that will not be a direct benefit to their users.
